Passing, 1999
One-channel video projection onto a blue-filtered lightbox assembly. The footage depicts a slow-motion recording of a passing crowd. When the greyscale footage is projected onto the blue screen, the dark area of the footage is rendered blue, and when a viewer passes between projector and lightbox their shadow is also rendered blue on the screen.
Video: 16mm transfered to digital, silent; bw, 13 minutes, 90x5".
Lightbox: stainless steel, blue-filtered fluorescent light, sandblasted glass lightbo,x 76" x 6.5" x 3.5".
