Stranger, 1998
Single-channel video projection onto a blue-filtered lightbox assembly. The footage depicts a slow-motion recording of a passing crowd. When the greyscale footage is projected onto the blue screen, the dark areas of the footage are rendered blue, and when a viewer passes between projector and lightbox their shadow is also rendered blue on the screen.
Video: 16mm film transfered to digital; 13:00'; 19" X 144".
Lightbox: MDF, blue-filtered fluorescent light, acrylic, lexan, 21" X 146" X 9".
